PSALMS 18:30

"As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him." A buckler is a shield and it is no good to that one who does not trust it to protect him in the hour of battle. Just as the LORD is our buckler, but only if we trust in Him. There is a lot said about trust in the Word of God. It would certainly make a good word study. Hope you have a good Lord's day.

Icing on a cake.

This reminded me of marshmellow icing on top of a cake. It was a beautiful snow icing put there by the mighty hand of God. We have a wonderful heavenly Father who gives us many beautiful things to enjoy. I praise Him and thank Him for His great love wherewith He loves us.

A snowy day in Emmaus, Pa.

God is still in control.

Today is indeed a historic day for our country. I keep trying to look at our new president as just another human being that God has raised up to fulfill His purpose on this earth, instead of looking at him as an african American who has risen to the top office in our country. However everytime the media has anything to say about him they capitalize on the fact that he is black. You know, Pres. Obama had absolutely nothing to do with the color of his skin, as none of us do. To me it is not important whether he is black, yellow, white or red, but that he conducts himself in a way that is beneficial to our country. God has allowed him to be in this position, whether he realizes it or not, and he has a great responsibility to each and every american, not just a select few. God's word tells us to pray for our leaders, which I will endeavor to do, realizing that ultimately  it is God who is still in control.

Lazy Monday

Well, here I am sitting at the computer, being lazy.  It is snowing and everything looks so beautiful and peaceful outside. All is well here. We are just waiting on Little Benjamin's grand entrance into this world. I have always been told by my parents that me, my sister and brother all three came during a blizzard. We all three were winter babies (Jan, Feb, March). Maybe Benjamin is waiting for the next big snow storm to make his entrance.
I never really realized how many old wives tales there were about babies. If there is one, there are forty eleven. I was thinking if someone could write a book containing ALL these tales, it would take a whole year reading 24/7 to get thru them.
I know this post is kind of rambling, but that's how my brain is working today. It's good to ramble sometimes I think. Well, gotta go Sudoku.

Late nite musing.
It is 12:10 am Tuesday morning and all is quiet. I am going over this past day and listing the happy things that happened. These are listed in random order and not necessarily in the order of happening. Sometimes my granddaughter calls me when I cannot get to the phone and she leaves a message now, whereas she used to just say to her mama "she's not there. I don't wanna leave a message." Well the other day, about a week ago she called and left a very detailed message about her brother (who is 3) and he is using the potty now, and wearing big boy undies. It was so cute I just had to save it and I listened to it today and it made me happy.
Also, my supper turned out to be quite tasty tonite. The last three days have not been so successful. To be truthful, they have been flops as far as supper was concerned, so tonites success made me quite happy.
I talked to my children today and that always makes me happy. So as I sign off, I sign off with a contented smile on my face, saying this has truly been a happy day.

Here is a poem I ran across the other day.

He Maketh No Mistake

My Father's way may twist and turn,
My heart may throb and ache,
But in my soul I'm glad I know,
He maketh no mistake.

My cherished plans may go astray
My hopes may fade away,
But still I'll trust the Lord to lead,
For He doeth know the way.

Tho night be dark and it may seem
That day will never break,
I'll pin my faith, my all in Him,
He maketh no mistake.

There's so much now I cannot see,
My eyesight may be dim.
But come what may, I'll simply trust,
And leave it all to Him.

For by and by the mist will lift,
And plain it all He'll make.
Through all the way, tho dark to me,
He made not one mistake. Annonymus

In loving memory of papa- We miss you. Today we would have celebrated your birthday here, but instead we celebrate our memories of all the time the Lord allowed you to sojourn on this earth before He took you home.

Everything was covered with ice this morning. It is truly beautiful, but dangerous.

This is a picture of my daughter Rachel and her husband Samer. They are expecting thier baby this month. It is to be another grandson, Benjamin. It is a joy to watch your children grow up and become parents (and make you grandparents.) We are praying for a safe and easy delivery , and a healthy baby and mommy thru it all.

This is a picture of Gracie Marie, born August 31, 2003. She is our only granddaughter. I was not present when she was born, but traveled to California when she was about
two months old. She is a very sweet little girl and a great big sister to Charlie
and Jude.
This is Grandma and newborn Jude Daniel , Born October 9, 2007. I remember when he was born. Jason had been out on deployment for 6 months and returned home just in time to see Jude brought into the world. The joy of having children is seeing them have children making you a grandma over and over.

Grandma, Gracie, and newborn Charlie

I remember when the doctor told Jessica and Jason that they were going to have to deliver Charlie by C-section. Jessica was very upset and they went out for a short while to pull themselves together and digest the news. Charles Thomas was born May 3, 2006, a beautiful, healthy baby boy.
